A Blazin start to the autumnThe story so farJarlath Henderson/Ross Ainslie TrioNew Year, New ProgrammeYou know when you've been Shoogled....Index 2009 SEASONby Jennie Macfie - 11:14 on 06 March 2009The Arts programme for 2009 will be a lot slimmer than in previous years - another victim of the credit crunch. Audience figures dropped dramatically in the second half of 2008 and we realised that people are cutting back, so we don't want to put a strain on your purse. The events we are programming are all of the highest quality and well worth saving up for.
This month we welcome Inverness's favourite musician, Blazin Fiddler Bruce Macgregor, accompanied by Sandy Brechin on accordion and Brian O hEadhra on guitar and vocals. If you were at their teatime concert last year, you've already bought your ticket for this one. It's going to be a wonderful night - Friday March 20th, 8pm, tickets online at the Booth. Next month, on Friday April 17th, we welcome another local fiddler, lovely Lauren MacColl and her band, the MacCollective (Barry Reid on guitar and Mhairi Campbell on piano). I saw their show at Celtic Connections and promise you that this is going to be a real treat for all lovers of Highland music. Then on June 20th we have thrilled to announce that we will be welcoming world famous mandolin maestro Andy Irvine, formerly of Planxty and bands too numerous to mention.
